CPA Job Responsibilities: Tax Resolution: Manage and resolve complex tax issues for clients, including disputes, audits, and negotiations with tax authorities. Develop and implement strategies to resolve outstanding tax liabilities and minimize penalties for clients. Provide expert representation for clients in communications with the IRS and other tax authorities. Analyze financial records to determine the most effective resolution strategies for clients’ tax situations. Client Representation: Act as a liaison between clients and regulatory bodies, including the IRS, ensuring compliance with all tax laws and regulations. Prepare and file all necessary documentation and forms required for tax resolution cases. Attend hearings, meetings, and negotiations on behalf of clients to advocate for their best interests. Compliance and Advisory: Ensure clients are compliant with federal, state, and local tax regulations. Provide ongoing tax advisory services to help clients avoid future tax issues. Keep up-to-date with changes in tax laws and regulations to provide the most current advice and strategies to clients. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and detailed records of all client interactions, case progress, and outcomes. Prepare regular reports on the status of tax resolution cases for internal review and client updates. CPA Qualifications and Skills: Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license is required. Valid Preparer Tax Identification Number (PTIN) is mandatory. Minimum of 3 years of experience in tax resolution. Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations. Excellent communication and negotiation skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple cases simultaneously. Proficiency in accounting and tax software. Education and Experience Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA license in good standing. Proven experience in handling tax resolution cases, with a track record of successful outcomes.
