The primary objective of this position is to support the preparation and delivery of pricing deliverables. This position receives direction from a Senior Estimator. Additionally, this person will coordinate with Project Managers on assigned projects. General Duties: Include but are not limited too: Contribute to pricing of competitive bid and negotiated deliverables as follows: Analyze and identify scopes of work from existing conditions, plans, and specifications through all phases of document deliverables. Perform quantity takeoffs quickly and accurately. Assist with subcontractor solicitation. Communicate with owners, architects, and engineers to clarify scope of work. Communicate project information and scope of work to subcontractors. Analyze subcontractor pricing. Assist with compilation of owner deliverables. Understand and communicate cost variances between estimates. Contribute to value engineering efforts. Build relationships with subcontractors. Attend industry functions and represent CDI in a professional capacity. Stay current with advances in estimating technology and techniques. Education/Experience: Minimum 5 years experience in construction or related field. Bachelor s degree in Construction Management or Engineering preferred. Proficiency in reading and interpreting drawings and specifications with a strong attention to detail. General understanding of competitive bids and negotiated processes. Working knowledge of estimating technology and tools. Strong math and analytical skills. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work in a collaborative office environment. Other Requirements: The ideal candidate is self-motivated, very organized, has strong communication skills – both verbally and written, is able to focus on completion of multiple concurrent responsibilities, and has the ability to work well in a fast-paced work environment.
