Automotive Software Technical Specialist
Job descriptionDevelop multiple types of software including end-user applications and operating systems/utility software that provides a platform for running end user applications.Recommends strategic/operational plans for developing and implementing new products and processesDetermines method of requirements gathering and analysis to understand the domain of the software problem and/or functionality, the interfaces between hardware and software and the overall software characteristicsSupports software testing, deployment, maintenance, and evolution activities by correcting programming errors, responding to scope changes, and coding software enhancementsIntegrate software components for solutions technologies with external and internal partnersApplies knowledge of software development best practices, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.Develop tire-centric solutions for use on platforms with limited processing power and memorySupport the development of IoT architecture to deploy algorithms to edge devicesParticipate in defining engineering approaches and in planning and scheduling workIntegrate business knowledge and technical skills into specifications and technology development strategy.Author regular technical communication for executive and cross-functional briefingsWork cross functionally within R&D, with Manufacturing, IT and business Strategy unit.Follow established procedures and best practicesSupport engineering activities including travel to manufacturing and customer sitesEducation and Key qualificationB.S. or M.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related field, or industry experience equivalent.8+ years experience in a product development role desired3+ years of experience developing software to ISO 26262, ISO 21434, Automotive SPICE, and IATF 16949 standards.3+ years of experience with AUTOSAR, C/C++, Linux, CAN, RTOS, and embedded software development experience.Excellent written and verbal communication skills and solid teamwork and leadership skills
