Position OverviewWe are looking for a Process Simulation Engineer with a strong foundation in ASPEN Plus to support our separation process development. The successful candidate will build and maintain process models for our separation technologies, validate those models against pilot data, and support scale up and design decisions as we grow from pilot to commercial scale. This is an in person role based at KU Innovation Park in Lawrence, KS.Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain ASPEN Plus models for extractive distillation, pressure swing adsorption, and membrane separation processes.Perform sensitivity analyses to identify key process variables and their impact on performance and economics.Validate simulation models against pilot plant data and refine assumptions as new data becomes available.Support scale up modeling to inform equipment sizing and process design decisions.Work closely with process, R&D, and commissioning teams to ensure models reflect real world operating conditions.Assist in the design and evaluation of new process configurations and separation schemes.Document modeling assumptions, methodology, and results for technical and non technical stakeholders.Qualifications & ExperienceBachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.Hands on experience with ASPEN Plus, whether through coursework, internships, or professional experience.Strong understanding of distillation, thermodynamics, and separation processes.Comfortable working with data and translating simulation results into practical engineering recommendations.Detail oriented with strong analytical and problem solving skills.Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross functionally with R&D, engineering, and operations teams.Why Join Us?Innovative Impact: Be part of a pioneering company addressing critical sustainability challenges in refrigerant recycling.Career Growth: Join a dynamic team where your expertise will directly influence the industry and company trajectory.How to ApplyInterested candidates should submit their resume and a cover letter detailing relevant experience with ASPEN Plus and process modeling to careers@icorium.us.Join us in shaping the future of sustainable separation technologies!
