Role: Construction Engineering Technician I
Location: Janesville, WI
Job Type: Fulltime- Onsite
As a Civil Engineering Technician / Civil Designer , you will support our civil engineering team on a wide range of projects, including transportation, land/site development, municipal infrastructure, and facility improvement projects.
This role offers tremendous opportunity for learning and career growth and is ideal for someone with a foundation in drafting or civil technology, or a strong desire to learn.
You will work closely with Project Leaders and other team members to assist with design, drafting, construction inspection, and project documentation.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with civil design and drafting for site development, transportation, and infrastructure projects
Prepare and revise site plans and construction documents
Perform quantity take-offs and quantity verification
Support construction inspection activities and maintain proper field documentation
Assist Project Leaders with day-to-day project support
Maintain accurate and organized project records and files
Collaborate with the project team to help meet project schedules, budgets, and client expectations
Knowledge & Experience (or Willingness to Learn):
Site plan design and plan preparation
Municipal infrastructure projects
Private land development projects
Construction inspection and documentation practices
AutoCAD (experience preferred, but training will be provided for the right candidate)
Qualifications
Basic knowledge of drafting and/or civil engineering technician duties
Valid driver's license and driving record acceptable to company insurance requirements
Strong initiative, self-motivation, and willingness to learn
Ability to work independently as well as part of a multi-disciplinary team
Clear communication skills and ability to work closely with a Project Leader
Strong sense of accountability and attention to detail
Ability to maintain clear, concise, and well-organized project documentation
