Admissions Counselor
Work Location
Virginia Beach, VA (capability of remote work in case of inclement weather)
Essential Duties
Represent Regent University as a general recruiter for all undergraduate and graduate school programs, providing extraordinary customer service to prospects, applicants, and enrolled students.
Develop and maintain comprehensive knowledge of all undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programs and counsel prospective students on program fit and admissions requirements.
Maintain comprehensive knowledge of applicant and student‑related resources, including admissions processes, financial aid, costs, transfer guidelines, licensure guidelines, military benefits, and student resources.
Make a high volume of outbound phone calls, receive inbound calls, and maintain student records using technology while protecting confidentiality.
Meet and exceed Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for each term as determined by Enrollment Management leadership, adhering to dynamic internal work processes.
Demonstrate exceptional professionalism when working with internal and external stakeholders, both in person and in writing.
Commit to continuous learning and professional development, mastering new content presented for daily work.
Coordinate and participate in admissions and recruitment events as required.
Assist with onboarding and training of new staff members.
Qualifications
Bachelors Degree preferred.
1‑2 years of experience in admissions, customer service, sales, and/or telemarketing/tele‑counseling.
Strong organizational abilities, excellent written and oral communication, and interpersonal skills for building rapport with a diverse customer base.
Motivated, coachable, and effective in a production‑driven work environment.
Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include days, evenings, and weekends, including rotating Saturdays and a second shift (12pm‑9pm).
Reliable transportation for timely travel to and from work.
Competence in technology, including CRM systems, Microsoft Suite, phone systems, and multi‑tasking, with a minimum typing speed of 40 WPM.
