Production Supervisor - 3rd Shift

OBJECTIVE: The Production Manager is responsible for supervising and directing all manufacturing activities within the Finishing Department and ensuring all processes align with the company’s policies. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Direct extrusion and finishing departments in achieving a standard of production requirements while maintaining quality standards that meet our customer’s requirements. Ensure that all quality systems, work instructions, and set-up instructions are being followed and maintained. Monitor and evaluate associate’s performance, identify areas of improvement, and ensure additional training is provided when needed. Assist Human Resources Department in all facets of associate orientation, training, discipline, and safety issues. Responsible for daily time and attendance tracking in HRIS system (Paycor) Uphold the guidelines of the employee handbook, union work rules, and the safety handbook. Provide additional coaching when needed to ensure comprehension of the policies and issue discipline as needed. Establish and maintain effective communication with department team supervisors and team leads. Support real-time booking and material movement as established by the Company. Follow appropriate process flow when a non-conformance is identified. This includes halting production when non-conforming products are found, investigating, and communicating findings with the management team. Perform in-process and final audits as established by the Quality Department in conjunction with the Quality Manager. Operate departmental test equipment and possess the required knowledge of all facets of the manufacturing process. Ensure all deadlines are met to ensure the quoted delivery date to our customers. Provide daily status reports of team activities, productivity, and scrap issues. Participate in Scrap reduction activities as assigned by the Extrusion, Production, or Plant Operations Manager. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: This position is responsible for supervising all Production Employees and Team Leads within the Extrusion and Finishing Departments. WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. The work environment is not temperature controlled and the employee may be exposed to high heat work conditions. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift, push, pull, and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift, push, pull, and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Exposure to moderate noise levels is probable. TRAVEL: Semi frequent short distance, and infrequent long distant travel may be required. Travel and interaction between Meteor Creative facilities may be required. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree in business, or a related field is required. Experience will be considered in lieu of a degree. Automotive manufacturing experience is preferred. Extrusion Manufacturing experience is preferred. 1 - 3 Years of Supervisory Experience in a manufacturing environment is required. FUNCTIONAL/TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITY: Effective attention to detail, problem solving, analytical, and organizational skills are required. Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communications skills including the ability to listen attentively and to communicate information clearly and effectively. Ability to always exercise good judgment and professionalism. Ability to coordinate and assist with day-to-day production functions. Experience and demonstrated skills/knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and Outlook) ERP Systems, and accurate data entry.
