Administrative Medical Staff Coordinator CPCSAnza, CA $54,729 - $67,039 a yearFull TimePosition OverviewThis role is responsible for managing credentialing activities and supporting medical staff functions in alignment with Joint Commission accreditation standards and applicable state and federal regulations. The position involves initial credentialing, reappointments, CME coordination, emergency department call scheduling, committee and department meeting support, expiration monitoring, and other administrative duties related to medical staff credentialing.Key ResponsibilitiesMaintain a safe and clean work environment, adhering to unit safety and infection control protocols.Stay current with Joint Commission accreditation standards and regulatory requirements.Ensure compliance with Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulations, Policies, and Procedures.Manage resources including equipment, supplies, and manuals for assigned areas.Deliver quality and ethical customer service to practitioners, patients, hospital departments, and medical group liaisons.Identify areas for improvement and develop policies and procedures accordingly.Support assigned departments and committees by scheduling, preparing agendas, documenting minutes, and following up on action items.Prepare reports for departments, divisions, committees, and governing boards.Process incoming correspondence and manage application packets for initial and reappointment credentialing.Handle requests for temporary privileges and maintain changes to privileges and staff status.Track application fees, reappointment dues, and fines as required.Prepare board approval letters and manage related processes.Maintain and update privileging modules and credentialing databases.Monitor expiring licensures and other documents monthly.Obtain and process monthly disciplinary and sanction reports from medical boards.Perform additional duties as assigned.QualificationsStrong organizational skills with effective written and verbal communication abilities.3-5 years of medical staff credentialing experience in a hospital setting.Proficient keyboarding and word processing skills.Experience using hospital data systems to generate reports.Basic secretarial and clerical skills for preparing minutes, agendas, and reports.Ability to sit for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks such as typing.Capable of working independently and collaboratively in close quarters.Effective prioritization skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.Knowledge of Joint Commission standards and regulatory requirements.EducationHigh school diploma or GED required.CertificationCPCS or CPMS certification preferred.All candidates must successfully complete a physical evaluation, drug screening, and background checks prior to employment.This opportunity is located in a regional healthcare setting within the Pacific Northwest region of the United States.
