Engineering Technician

Description: L3Harris is seeking a talented, Engineering Technician to support a variety of System Integration & Test activities. Essential Functions: Performs a variety of duties in the electronic, mechanical, electromechanical, and/or optical areas. Assists in the design, construction, test and checkout of test equipment Constructs, troubleshoots, calibrates, adjusts, test, diagnoses, and maintain equipment, components, devices, or systems. Works from schematics, operating or repair manuals, engineering drawings and written or verbal instructions. May work with complex machines or computer systems. Operates related equipment, conducts tests and reports data in prescribed format. Performs calibration and alignment checks, makes adjustments, modifications, and replacements as directed; prepares prescribed compounds and solutions. Works autonomously with no supervision. Acts as a mentor to lower level peers and provides guidance on tasks. Communicates with contacts typically within and outside the department on matters that involve explaining complex assignments, solving problems and initiating process improvements. Makes recommendations for new procedures Work requires independent action and a high degree of initiative to resolve issues. Qualifications: Requires advanced job knowledge/skills. Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 6 years of prior related experience. Experience in a manufacturing, repair depot, or integration environment. Experienced soldering skills, familiarity with Quality Operating Procedures (such as AS9100 and ISO), ESD, and Foreign Object Debris/Damage (FOD) Able to comprehend schematics, mechanical drawings, assembly work instructions and test procedures. Able to work with all general manufacturing hand tools, computers, and electronic troubleshooting tools such as oscilloscopes, multi-meters, power supplies, calipers, and testing instruments. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. May be required to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds, with assistance. Able to stand, bend, twist and kneel while building a variety of assemblies. Able to obtain a FAA clearance. Overall Summary: Highly developed support individual contributor. Works autonomously. May act as a mentor to lower level peers and provide guidance on tasks.
