Field Service Technician II
We’re looking for Field Service Technicians with a strong electrical background to support inspection, maintenance, and testing activities across client sites. This role requires a self-starter who can operate independently, communicate effectively with clients, and deliver high-quality technical service in the field. This is a great opportunity to develop technical and professional skills and grow with a fast-paced, mission-driven team.What You’ll DoPerform transformer inspections in accordance with established proceduresConduct transformer maintenance and minor repair activitiesSupport senior NETA testing effortsCoordinate warranty support activities between clients and equipment manufacturersManage and coordinate site access for field technicians and service personnelIdentify, document, and report equipment issues within client-provided reporting systemsInterface directly with clients in a professional, solutions-oriented mannerKeep accurate reports, logs, and equipment calibration recordsFollow all RMS Energy and site safety procedures (Lockout/Tagout, PPE, JHA)The Experience We’re Looking For1–3 years of experience in power systems or industrial maintenanceExperience with low voltage multimeters and non-contact voltage meterExperience with medium voltage standards including arc flash boundary and groundingComputer literate, with experience using digital reporting systems and field toolsComfortable in client-facing environments with professional communication skillsAbility to work autonomously with minimal supervisionDemonstrated self-starter with strong problem-solving capabilityAdditional RequirementsWillingness to travel up to 75% across the continental U.S.High school diploma or GED requiredAvailable for extended and irregular hours as neededAble to work outdoors in all weather, at heights (100+ ft), in confined spaces, and around high-voltage equipment and heavy machineryPhysically capable of lifting 50+ lbs and enduring extended physical activityValid driver’s license and legal authorization to work in the United StatesAble to pass background checks and pre-employment/random drug screeningsWilling to complete required safety training (including travel, if necessary)Requires good vision, hearing, and English proficiency for safe, effective communication in noisy environmentsBonus Points ForFamiliarity with NETA testing standards and field practicesExperience with transformer inspection, maintenance, or testingPrior field service or mission-critical facility experience (data centers, utilities, industrial sites)Strong documentation and reporting skillsWhy Join RMS EnergyWe’re not just another power services company.
