CNC Programmer/operator

Develop, write, and optimize CNC programs for various machines such as CNC milling machines and CNC lathes using CAM programming software like Mastercam or CATIA. Interpret detailed blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings, applying GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) standards to ensure accurate manufacturing. Set up CNC machines by selecting appropriate tooling, fixtures, and calibration tools such as bore gauges, micrometers, calipers, and precision measuring instruments. Conduct thorough machine inspections before production runs to verify alignment with specifications using coordinate measuring machines (CMM) and other precision measurement tools. Adjust machining parameters based on real-time feedback to optimize cycle times while maintaining quality standards in lean manufacturing environments. Troubleshoot machining issues related to tooling wear, electrical discharge machining (EDM), or mechanical failures promptly to minimize downtime. Collaborate with design engineers utilizing CAD software like SolidWorks or CAD to review models and ensure manufacturability. Maintain detailed documentation of programs, setup procedures, inspection reports, and process improvements for continuous enhancement initiatives. Ensure safety protocols are followed during all operations and promote a culture of safety awareness among team members. Proficiency in CNC programming languages such as G-code and M-code with hands-on experience on CNC milling machines and CNC lathes. Strong knowledge of CAD/CAM software including AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA, and Mastercam for designing and programming parts. Deep understanding of blueprint reading combined with GD&T principles for precise interpretation of technical drawings. Mechanical knowledge related to tooling selection, fixture setup, geometry calculations, and machining processes. Familiarity with precision measuring instruments such as bore gauges, micrometers, calipers, schematics, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM). Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles aimed at reducing waste while increasing efficiency in production workflows. Ability to perform mathematical calculations essential for tool path optimization and tolerance verification. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot machining issues quickly and effectively. Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with engineering teams and production staff.
