This position's starting wage is qualification dependent. The person chosen for this position will be required to comply with all state statutes, county, and departmental policies and procedures.The work schedule for this part-time position is Monday through Wednesday from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PMApplicants must, completely, fill out the county application, online, and submit resumes to payroll@neoshocountyks.org.JOB SUMMARY:Position will be responsible for preparing various correspondence, reports, data entry, numerous miscellaneous documents, phone and e-mail communications. Responsible for performing tasks that support the overall daily operations of the Road & Bridge department for Neosho County.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Enters pertinent data into GWorksAnswers incoming phone calls and provides correspondence to appropriate personnelAssists taxpayers with Road & Bridge related questionsOrganize the daily and grader operator sheetsMaintains blank daily, grader operator and leave requests sheets stockedEnsures work area is organized and remains professionalAssists with daily office tasks to ensure smooth daily operationsCollects fuel sheets, for billing, at the end of each weekSupplies the grader operators with new operator and leave request sheets as neededCompletes the morning and end of day check in and check out for the grader operatorsMaintains proper housekeeping in the officeCompletes data entry of fuel delivery to grader sheds, landfill and quarryUtilizes GWorks data reports to send to the Commissioner and CounselorMaintains inventory of all tools and equipmentPlaces previous years operator sheets, fuel logs, Kansas Onecall and others into boxesMaintains various reports and documents for the Road and Bridge departmentEnforces and maintains compliance with all federal, state and local laws and ordinancesComplies with all organizational and departmental policies and proceduresOperates all job-related equipment, machinery, tools and other aids as required or neededProtects and maintains any confidential information whether oral, written, or electronicAbility to cross-train on the duties of the Office Manager, and serve as Office Manager in their absencePerforms other duties as assigned or deemed necessaryREQUIRED SKILLS:Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize workAbility to fulfill all duties with minimal supervision and to work independentlyAssess situations rapidly and make logical decisions in a timely mannerAnalyze facts and exercise sound judgment Ability to effectively manage projects and multiple priorities simultaneouslyStrong written and verbal communication skillsProblem solving and critical thinking skillsStrong math, spelling, computer, and calculator abilitiesAbility to communicate in a professional, calm and courteous manner with the general public and employeesMust be able to work closely with others and get along with co-workersCertifications / Licenses:Valid Driver's LicensePHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Frequently required to stand, sit, walk, use arms, hands and fingers, speak, hear and see. Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Must be able to, occasionally, lift up to 25 pounds.EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:Minimum of 1-year relevant work experience in a clerical position preferred, and high school diploma or certified equivalent is required.
