We strive to provide not only superior technology and design, but also outstanding quality, service, and application support.Job DescriptionThis is a remote work from home position.Candidates must have water and/or wastewater treatment experience to be considered.Role Summary:The Wastewater Process Engineer will work as part of a team of other Process Engineers and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) screening potential projects and opportunities for newconstruction, fleet-based solutions, and/or utilizing existing customer assets, preparingdetailed process design calculations, developing and/or reviewing Process Flow Diagrams(PFDs) and Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), providing technical guidance and support to Sales and Commercial Engineering teams, conducting site/field audits of existing plants to review performance and/or troubleshoot problems, and providing operational safety input to field services, engineering and design teams. The Technical Direction and Process Validation team works with many different technologies such as clarification, filtration, dissolved air flotation, ultrafiltration, reverse osmosis, ion exchange, electro-deionization, membrane bioreactors, degasification, adsorption, and dewatering technology. Applications include industrial wastewater treatment for discharge and/or reuse, cooling tower makeup and blowdown, Food and Beverage, Semiconductor, and Wastewater treatment applications.Essential Responsibilities:Coordinate with Sales and Commercial Engineering (CE) Teams to supportopportunities including screening new opportunities during WIN reviews for regional andglobal projectsProvide technical and process support to meet Sales and Commercial Engineeringteam’s respective needs.Be responsible for the creation, development, and/or assessment of process designcalculations and process flow diagrams (PFDs) for new and unique applications withinthe Services business, including but not limited to new greenfield projects, retrofitprojects on existing sites, and upgrades to acquired assets.Participate in P-table (Process) reviews prior to proposal submission to ensure theproposed solution is capable of meeting and achieving the treatment system’s goals andproduct specifications over the entire duration of the contract.Participate in Peer Reviews of other SME team member’s projects to support P-tablereviews, as required.Coach and mentor other team members, sharing your knowledge and background inyour specific subject matter area of expertise to develop and elevate the entire team’sworking knowledgeSupport lifecycle cost analysis while comparing and contrasting different flowsheets toarrive at the best technical approachWork with Sales and CE teams to apply process design strategies in order to positionthe company well in the early stages of project development, to increase the probabilityof success.Develop and maintain relationships with Regional Sales Managers and LocalRepresentatives and other Commercial Engineering teams.QualificationsQualifications/Requirements:Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in an Engineering discipline. Mechanical, Chemical, orEnvironmental Engineering is preferred.Minimum of 10 years’ experience in water & wastewater process engineering orequipment supply field, preferably with several years of hands-on working knowledge onprocess equipment or in a plant environment.Minimum of 10 years’ experience in detailed process design and the ability to read andunderstand proposal documents and specifications, both from a technical andcommercial perspective.Desired Characteristics:Ability to work independently for long periods.Self-motivated, quick to deliver and a team player.Demonstrated dedication to safety.Effective troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.An accomplished communicator, able to produce quality technical and reviewdocuments as well as guide colleagues through technical reports and techno-economiccase studies.Additional InformationLocation: There is no requirement for this position to be based out of a VWTS office, however working out of a VWTS office may be possible depending on a candidate’s location. A suitable home office is acceptable.
