Solutions Architect
Job DescriptionThe solution architect establishes the application architecture of the system and translates the future vision of the business into an application and data deployment strategy. This strategy includes decisions about centralizing or decentralizing business data and processing, identification of interface points and specific requirements for data transfer and synchronization across the business, critical setup of applications to support the business process mapping, strategies to support the reporting needs of the business, and other less general requirements that may impact the architecture such as multilingual requirements.The Godlan Solutions Architect (SA) is responsible for creating and administering the application of the Business Blueprint. The Business Blueprint recommends the To Be business processes direction (the thoughtware) and the application (the software) for achieving the business objectives. It identifies the gaps between user requirements and standard application software and recommends a solution for closing the gap. This will include points of integration. Within the scope of the Project Management Plan (PMP) the Blueprint declares the Business Driver for Change as well as the mutually agreed upon definition of project success and project completion. It itemizes the risks, assumptions, and constraints.The document is organized around various structures:Multi-SiteOperational (including Service Management)FinancialLogisticsWhere appropriate, it will provide an outline of the events, notifications, personalizations and reports that will be required to streamline the processes and the Training Strategy to impart understanding to the customer's team members.Additionally, the Solutions Architect may be required to provide business and/or leadership during the pre-sales cycle with the Infor Sales Team and/or in the post-sales cycle with the Infor Consulting Services team. The SA provides business and leadership for specific Infor product solutions to meet customer's business objectives.The Solutions Architect works with Sales/Solutions Consultants and the customer to configure or create Infor Software solutions to solve practical situations for manufacturing environments. This individual must have the ability to provide application, project and account leadership and ownership in manufacturing environments of various sizes and complexity. The Solution Architect works with customers/prospects to identify requirements and must possess the business skills and operations and financial experience needed to design and develop cost effective solutions that meet functional and performance requirements and provide demonstrable ROI for the customer.Required Skills and Experience and Additional DutiesThe incumbent possesses the ability to identify operational barriers to the clients' stated business objectives. The incumbent is able to convince diverse audiences - from the stockroom to the boardroom - of the merits of the recommended changes. This requires an exceptional understanding of Change Management Principles. The incumbent is comfortable stepping up to the white-board to explain concepts and outline solutions architectures and...Will be a "go to" resource in critical situations for both pre-sales and post-sale customer satisfactionWill develop and deliver complex systems technical presentations and demonstrations building trust with the customer in Infor's ability to meet the business requirementsDesigns and conducts internal Infor ICS team mentoring and training on Best Practices associated with the BlueprintContinuously seeks ways to improve internal processes and increase effectiveness, and is eager to contribute these ideas to the cross functional teamsOwns the definition and integrity of Infor's blueprintWorks with the Sales Team to discover and exploit opportunities for cross selling and up sellingIdentifies the need for integration between solution domains (e.g. PCM and ERP) and co-ordinates appropriate resources to define blueprint detailsProvide expertise and guidance for application configuration and database definition IE parameters and codes.In conjunction with the Project Manager, conduct Implementation Readiness Audit prior to final acceptance and go-liveThe SA will need to review and explain the Business Blueprint to the customer following its development, and be able to guide the customer through the details contained therein.Identify functional gaps within the solution and provide recommendations to solve.Act as mentor to Godlan staff, providing training and guidance.Additional DutiesIn addition to that activities outlined above, the Solutions Architect will also be responsible for maintaining a billing utilization (set on an annual basis between the Solutions Architect and PSO Management), both in the capacity of the Solutions Architect role, as well as in a consulting capacity (refer to Consultant's Job Description for specific responsibilities and activities).Success CriteriaMaintain a personal billing objective (to be set annually)Stays current with new releases of Infor CloudSuite Industrial and provides training classes to PSO organizationProvides mentoring on a regular basis to PSO staffProactively seeks out additional revenue opportunitiesQualification CriteriaRecognized as an expert in the operations and/or financial portfolio of Infor's CloudSuite Industrial solutionBS/BA, 7 years of experience with demonstrated expertise in business and technical consulting4-5 years of experience providing applications solutions with Infor enterprise softwarePractical manufacturing experience preferably in Supply Chain or Production areasBachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent industry experienceStrong CxO-level communications skillsDemonstrated ability to align business requirements with business system solutionsUnderstands that "a system" includes both thoughtware and software
