Research Associate - Potency
Job DescriptionWe are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our Potency Assay development team.The Potency team is responsible for the development, qualification and implementation of cell-based assays, binding assays and other methods to support the characterization of therapeutics in the pipeline.The candidate will work with the manager in performing and developing cell-based assays as well as sample testing.The candidate will also be involved in helping to develop and implement novel assays, such as binding assays and ELISAs when appropriate, in both GLP and non-GLP environments.Perform various assays, including cell-based assays, ELISAs, and binding assaysParticipate in assay qualification and implementation activitiesAid in the development of cell-based assays or binding assaysParticipate in general lab maintenance stocking, maintaining equipment and buffer preparationPerforms experiments that are routine in nature and troubleshoots studies with supervision.Interprets data and recognizes errors or unusual results when they occur.Records accurate, clear, and complete experimental data and methodsSummarizes experimental results and presents to lab group.Will require work with screened human cell lines of BSL-2 level - considered routine bioassay workQualificationsA Bachelor of Science degree in bioengineering, biology, or related field and 2+ years of laboratory experience (either academic or industry) would be preferredAccurate and good pipetting ability in both single and multichannel pipetting requiredExperience with aseptic technique, cell culture, and bioassays, particularly cell-based & binding assays - highly desirableMeticulous attention to detail, quality and compliance following assay procedures, data reporting and execution of experimentsPrevious laboratory experience in a development or GLP or QC setting is desirableStrong organization and multi-tasking skillsMust be comfortable working in a fast-paced environmentFunction independently as well as actively participate in team responsibilitiesStrong written and verbal communication skillsTechnical KnowledgeAptitudeValues DifferencesCollaborationAction OrientedProblem SolvingNimble LearningMultichannel Pipetting (1-2 years) Relevant Experience (Bioassay)Mammalian Cell Culture
