Senior Quality Technician

Job DescriptionCTR Group is seeking a SENIOR QUALITY INSPECTOR for an Aerospace Company in the Newport News, VA, area. Immediate opening and urgently hiring!Pay Rate: OpenSUMMARY:The Sr. Quality Inspector tests and inspects aerospace and marine prototype hardware and assemblies, at various stages of the production process.Responsibilities:Evaluate data and write inspection reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards and document other critical characteristics, processes and materials.Inspect complex contoured surfaces using multi-axis coordinate measuring machine and associated computer software; accurately measures with hand-held precision measuring tools.Program, set-up and verify inspection programs for multi-axis coordinate measuring machine.Interpret engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, or formulas and confers with engineering staff to determine quality tolerance, specifications and reliability standards.Deliberate with engineering staff to determine quality tolerance, specifications and reliability standards. Come up with mitigation strategies for failed components.Preferred Education / Experience:Associates Degree5+ years of related discipline; OR a combination of education and experience equivalent to above.Preferred Knowledge / Ability: Proficient with Verisurf, or similar inspection CMM programming systemAbility to read and interpret blueprints/engineering drawings, operating and maintenance instructions, and Quality Control procedure manualsProficient using manual hand tool inspection equipmentValid drivers' license with a clean driving record is requiredAbility to obtain and maintain forklift certificationDetailed knowledge of DOD-STD-100C and ANSI Y14.5M requirementsAbility to obtain a security clearanceCTR Group has been a leader in its industry for over 30 years and is rated highly on Google, Indeed and Facebook for being a great company to work for.
