Stelvio is supporting a well-funded advanced robotics company hiring a Senior / Staff Robotics & Controls Engineer.This is a hands-on role working on a highly precise robotic platform where control quality, motion accuracy, safety, and real-world hardware behavior are central to the product.The team is looking for someone who can contribute across:Robotics controls and algorithm developmentKinematics, dynamics, and motion planningCollision-aware path generation and constrained optimizationModern C++ software developmentROS2 / simulation environmentsState estimation, filtering, and signal processingPhysical hardware integration and lab-based testingCross-functional work with software, electrical, mechanical, and systems teamsThis would suit someone with a strong background in robotics, controls, mechatronics, or motion systems - ideally with experience deploying algorithms onto physical hardware rather than working purely in simulation.Relevant backgrounds could include:Surgical / medical roboticsRobotic arms or manipulatorsPrecision automationHumanoid roboticsAerospace / defense roboticsIndustrial roboticsMotion-control systemsAdvanced mechatronics platformsThe ideal candidate will likely have an MS or PhD in Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or similar, along with strong C++ experience and a track record of building control algorithms for real-world robotic systems.This is a full-time, onsite position in Southern California.
