This role is responsible for ensuring that all product labeling meets federal, state, and third-party certification requirements, while partnering cross-functionally to support innovation, compliance, and risk management initiatives.This is a highly collaborative role working with teams across Marketing, Research & Development (R&D), Legal, Supply Chain, and Quality. The ideal candidate brings strong regulatory knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.Job DescriptionThis role plays a critical part in ensuring the accuracy, compliance, and integrity of product labeling across a wide portfolio of food products. The Labeling and Regulatory Compliance Specialist partners closely with cross-functional teams to support product launches, updates, and ongoing compliance initiatives by translating complex regulatory requirements into clear, accurate labeling. This position requires a balance of technical expertise, attention to detail, and strong collaboration skills to help mitigate risk while supporting business objectives.Provide subject matter expertise on food labeling regulations and communicate updates, risks, and opportunities to cross-functional teamsPartner with internal stakeholders to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations (FDA, USDA), company policies, and third-party certification standards (e.g., Non-GMO Project, GFCO)Develop and maintain accurate product labeling information, including nutrition facts, ingredient statements, allergens, product names, and claimsReview and approve packaging artwork, labeling graphics, and product text for accuracy, consistency, and regulatory compliancePrepare, complete, and submit regulatory documentation to support product claims and compliance requirements, including interactions with regulatory agencies and third-party organizationsSupport regulatory strategy by identifying and addressing labeling-related risks, including food safety, litigation, and brand considerationsStay current on regulatory updates, industry trends, and food labeling best practicesRespond to consumer and customer inquiries related to product labeling and complianceCollaborate on process improvements, system enhancements, and standardization initiativesEffectively manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining high accuracyQualificationsRequired Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Nutrition, or a related fieldMinimum of 3 years of experience in food labeling, regulatory affairs, or a related areaStrong understanding of U.S. food labeling regulations (FDA, USDA)Experience working in cross-functional environments with teams such as R&D, Marketing, and QualityExcellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlinesHigh attention to detail and accuracyProblem-solving skills, including root cause analysis, risk assessment, and corrective actionPreferred Qualifications:Working knowledge of regional and international regulatory standards and documentation requirementsFamiliarity with food product development and commercialization processesUnderstanding of food safety standards and allergen managementExperience with third-party certifications (e.g., Non-GMO, Gluten-Free)Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders and support regulatory decision-makingSelf-starter with strong initiative and ability to work independentlyBenefitsDahl Consulting is proud to offer a comprehensive benefits package to eligible employees that will allow you to choose the best coverage to meet your family’s needs.
