IT Intern

Job Description & RequirementsThe IT Intern supports Interstate Engineering's technology operations while gaining hands-on experience in IT support, systems, and infrastructure. This role provides exposure to real-world IT environments, assisting with basic troubleshooting, equipment setup, and user support under the guidance of experienced IT professionals.The IT Intern collaborates with team members across the firm to support daily technology needs while developing foundational skills in IT support, cybersecurity, and system administration.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist with first-level technical support, helping troubleshoot basic hardware, software, and network issues alongside IT staff.Support setup and configuration of workstations, monitors, printers, and mobile devices for new and existing employees.Help respond to IT support tickets, documenting issues and solutions in the helpdesk system.Assist with software installations and updates (e.g., Microsoft Office, engineering and design software) under supervision.Support IT inventory tracking, including organizing and logging hardware and equipment.Participate in routine system checks, updates, and basic maintenance tasks.Assist with conference room and meeting technology setup (Teams, displays, conferencing tools).Provide general support to departments such as HR and Marketing for basic system access or platform troubleshooting.Shadow IT team members on projects related to system upgrades, cybersecurity practices, or process improvements.Participate in training and development opportunities to build technical and professional skills.About UsAs Interstate Engineering celebrates 50 years, we're proud of the legacy we've built and even more excited about what's ahead.
