The TMG Development program is a 12-month program for new college graduates in the TMG organization.About This OpportunityJoin our Memory IP Validation team within the Advanced Technology Development organization. You'll characterize cutting-edge memory circuits (SRAM, Flash, EEPROM, eFuse) on advanced technology nodes—working on IP that powers next-generation smartphones, AI accelerators, data centers, and automotive systems.This role combines hands-on silicon characterization, test automation, and cross-functional collaboration with worldwide teams. You'll work with 300mm development wafers, analyze performance data, and help qualify innovative memory IP designs for customer integration. Your silicon feedback shapes design decisions and qualifies innovative IP for cutting-edge products—bridging the gap between circuit design and silicon reality on tomorrow's technologies.What You'll GainAdvanced characterization techniques and statistical analysis methodologiesRoot cause investigation skills during technology developmentExperience qualifying IP from concept through production readinessCross-functional collaboration with designers, process engineers, and business unitsCareer paths in validation, product engineering, design, or advanced technology developmentStructured onboarding, dedicated mentorship, and hands-on trainingWho will you work with?Circuit designers, process development engineers, failure analysis teams, and business units.What You'll Be DoingSilicon Characterization on ATECharacterize memory circuits on 300mm wafers using automated probe stations and parametric test equipment across advanced technology nodesPerform AC/DC electrical measurements to validate timing, power, functionality and reliability on new designsPerform digital logic testing through Scan/ATPG patterns across temperature, voltage and frequencyTest analog circuits (sense amplifiers, charge pumps, voltage references) across voltage, temperature, and process variationsDevelop Python, C/C++, or LabVIEW scripts to automate test equipment, data collection, and analysisOperate lab equipment: oscilloscopes, curve tracers, parametric analyzers, SMUs, and precision instrumentsData Analysis & Design OptimizationAnalyze characterization data using statistical tools (JMP, Spotfire, Python) to identify design sensitivities and performance trendsCorrelate silicon results with circuit simulations to provide actionable design feedbackEstablish performance benchmarks and test limits for new IP designsGenerate technical reports and present findings to development teamsCross-Functional Collaboration & Problem SolvingWork with business units to qualify new memory IP for next-generation SoC integrationPartner with circuit designers and process development teams to root cause performance issues and optimize designsCollaborate with failure analysis teams to investigate and resolve technical challengesSupport IP qualification for reliability requirements (retention, endurance, cycling)Provide technical documentation to enable customer design integrationHelp transition qualified IP from development to production readinessQualificationsMinimum RequirementsMaster's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, or relatedCumulative 3.0/4.0 GPA or higherPreferred QualificationsStrong foundation in analog and digital circuit analysis, transistor-level operation and device physicsKnowledge of analog/mixed-signal circuits (op-amps, comparators, references) Familiarity with SPICE simulation (Cadence, Synopsys or equivalent)Understanding of memory architectures (SRAM, DRAM, Flash) and its operationUnderstanding of semiconductor physics and fabrication processesProgramming proficiency in Python, C/C++, or equivalentData analysis skills - ability to extract insights from large datasetsFamiliarity with statistical analysisLab experience with oscilloscopes, power supplies, or measurement equipmentSemiconductor characterization experience (coursework, research, internships)Statistical analysis tools (JMP, Spotfire) or any data visualization tool experienceAnalytical problem solver with attention to detailStrong technical communicator (written and verbal)Collaborative team player across multiple functionsSelf-driven and adaptable to dynamic environmentsAbout UsWhy TI?Engineer your future.
