Maintenance Mechanic
As a Maintenance Mechanic at PPG's Monroeville Research & Development, you will be a crucial part of our Specialty Synthesis Group (SSG) operations responsible for process development and manufacturing of photochromic dyes, OLED (Organic Light Emitting Diode) materials and optical coatings, ensuring that a quality product is available to our customers when they need them. Your work will directly affect people's lives!

Responsibilities:
Assist with routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs of mechanical equipment, tools, and facility systems
Perform basic troubleshooting of mechanical issues under the guidance of supervisor
Support preventive maintenance (PM) activities, including lubrication, adjustments, and component replacement
Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and basic diagnostic equipment Follow work instructions, maintenance procedures, and safety guidelines at all times
Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and documentation
Assist with equipment installations, modifications, and shutdown/startup activities
Maintain housekeeping standards in work areas and mechanical spaces
Escalate abnormal equipment conditions or safety concerns promptly
Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent is required
0-2 years Mechanical aptitude and high level of safety awareness
Attention to detail and documentation skills
Excellent organizational and communication skills
Strong problem solving, initiative, and knowledge of PC applications
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a consistent basis throughout the day
Must be able to stand, bend, crouch, kneel throughout the day, use basic tools, operate a Forklift or ability to learn new maintenance skills
Ability to work overtime as needed
