You will work closely with research scientists, mechanical engineers, and hardware teams to machine precision components that bring next-generation robotic systems to life. If you are passionate about precision manufacturing, hands-on fabrication, and delivering high-quality parts for cutting-edge technology, we want to talk to you.Key job responsibilitiesProgram, set up, operate, and maintain 5-axis CNC mills and 5-axis mill-turn machining centers to produce precision components for prototyping and productionDevelop and optimize CNC programs using CAM software, ensuring efficient toolpaths, proper feeds and speeds, and high-quality surface finishesTroubleshoot machining issues and perform routine maintenance and calibration on CNC equipmentDesign and fabricate custom fixtures, jigs, and workholding devices to support production and assembly processesCollaborate with engineering teams to assess part designs for manufacturability and recommend design improvementsSupport machining operations and prepare materials for prototyping and production runsSource and procure cutting tools, raw metals, and consumables; manage tooling inventory and maintain stock levels of hardware and fabrication suppliesMaintain a clean, organized, and safe shop environment in compliance with machining safety standardsGenerate process documentation, work instructions, CNC programs, and equipment maintenance logsBasic QualificationsExperience writing and publishing technical documents or equivalentExperience that includes strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilitiesCan work proactively and independently, meet deadlines, and deliver on projects and tasksAssociate's degree or higher in Manufacturing Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experienceMinimum 5 years of hands-on CNC programming experience, including operating and setting up CNC mills and lathes (2-axis through 5-axis)Proficiency in CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, NX CAM, EdgeCam, or equivalent) for toolpath generation and CNC programmingProficiency in SolidWorks, NX, or equivalent CAD software for reading and interpreting 3D models and engineering drawingsSolid understanding of machining principles, GD&T, and shop safety practicesPreferred QualificationsBachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalentExperience programming and operating DMG machines with Siemens controlsFamiliarity with multi-axis (4- or 5-axis) machining strategies and fixturingBackground in mechanical fabrication or prototyping environmentsExperience with inventory management systems and procurement processesKnowledge of materials science as it relates to metal fabrication, including aluminum, steel, and titaniumExperience supporting engineering teams in a fast-paced product development or R&D environmentFamiliarity with additive manufacturing technologies as a complement to subtractive processesAmazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status.Our inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
