POSITION DESCRIPTION
Seton Hill University is seeking a Graduate Assistant for Campus Programming within the Office of Student Leadership & Involvement to assist with the planning, organization, and implementation of a comprehensive student involvement program designed to enhance the overall learning experience for students by enhancing co-curricular activities. This Graduate Assistant should gain experience in advising, campus programming, and marketing and communications. The position includes a scholarship, in accordance with graduate school tuition, and payment, in accordance with hours worked.
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:
Serve as the co-advisor of the Seton Hill Programming Board, providing support for campus programming, with a special focus on program growth and development to meet the needs of Seton Hill students.
Lead and actively participate in recruiting, training, and supervising undergraduate and student employees for the Seton Hill Programming Board.
Assist with the coordination of several major campus events including the Involvement Fair, Homecoming & Family Weekend and other campus-wide programming efforts.
Coordinate marketing efforts for the Division of Student Affairs and the Office of Student Leadership & Involvement (specifically on social media - @shudentlife), with focus on emerging marketing trends that will reach students
Provide support to student organizations and University offices and departments in planning and execution of large-scale programming.
Other duties as assigned, including supporting other Student Leadership & Involvement and Student Affairs programming.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
A bachelor's degree and acceptance into one of Seton Hill University's eligible MBA or Education graduate programs.
Conduct themselves as professional staff members while in the office which includes dress, behavior, and attitude.
Flexibility of work environment and schedule, including nights and weekends.
Excellent written and oral communication skills, and interpersonal and organizational skills.
Integrity, flexibility, positivity, adaptability, strong work ethic.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge of event planning, program management, or marketing preferred.
