The role of an Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning Systems Engineer centers on delivering Systems Engineering & Technical Advisory (SETA) support to a U.S. Government (USG) Program Office advancing national security and intelligence capabilities through Research & Development (R&D) of evolutionary, revolutionary, and transformational AI/ML algorithms for space and ground systems. Position Overview LV8D Solutions is seeking an Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning Systems Engineer to provide technical and program services to the USG by helping the government evaluate and field advanced AI-enabled technologies that improve how space-derived intelligence is collected, processed, and delivered to mission operators and analysts. This position provides SETA support services. Key Responsibilities Evaluation of advanced AI/ML concepts, systems, technologies, designs, architectures, interfaces into space and ground systems Support Agile SAFe program development processes and activities Assist USG Program Office with analysis of alternatives to optimize technical, cost, and schedule performance considerations and improve knowledge and understanding of system, technology, and architecture tradeoffs Technical and programmatic support through the entire project life cycle including concept development, system definition, acquisition planning, source selection, system design, development, integration and test, system delivery, and deployment Work with government technical and contracts staff developing program acquisition packages Briefings and reports including technical and programmatic assessments presenting analysis, results, conclusions, and recommendations Provide acquisition advisory services during technical and cost evaluations of proposals Required Qualifications Bachelor's and nine (9) years or more experience; Master's and seven (7) years or more experience; PhD or Juris Doctor (JD) and four (4) years or more experience AI/ML experience Acquisition support experience Proficient skills using Microsoft Office applications (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint) Critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills Interpersonal and communication skills for written reports, group discussion, and oral presentations Preferred Qualifications Knowledge, skills, abilities, and/or experience in one of more of the following: Systems engineering and integration applied to spacecraft, ground, and launch systems R&D of artificial intelligence/machine learning agents System acquisition, design, development, integration, test, and/or flight operations Small Satellite (SmallSat) systems (single vehicles, clusters, and/or constellations) Artificial Intelligence and/or Machine Learning technologies applied to space systems System modeling & simulation and/or system performance analysis IC mission, organizations, disciplines, systems, and/or processes Security Requirements U.S. Citizenship Active Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance Active Counterintelligence (CI) or Full Scope (FS) Polygraph Work Environment On-site work in a government or contractor facility Occasional travel (up to 10%) Performance & Recognition Period of Performance (PoP) Bonus Opportunities – Performance-based bonus opportunities tied to contract or organizational performance.
