This role bridges engineering, project development, and pre-construction, ensuring that electrical systems are designed efficiently, priced accurately, and delivered to meet client needs. The ideal candidate has a blend of technical engineering expertise, practical field understanding, and strong communication skills.\n \nKey Responsibilities\nEngineering & Design\n\nDevelop electrical system designs for commercial, industrial, and/or projects.\nProduce drawings, specifications, load calculations, short-circuit studies, arc-flash analysis, and equipment selection.\nCoordinate with architects, mechanical engineers, contractors, and clients to ensure integrated project design.\nReview and stamp engineering drawings.\nEnsure designs comply with NEC, local codes, and project requirements.\n\nDesign-Build Responsibilities\n\nParticipate in early project development, conceptual design, and feasibility reviews.\nProvide value-engineering options and design alternatives to improve cost, constructability, and performance.\nSupport field teams with design clarification, RFIs, submittals, and change orders.\nAttend site visits to gather data, evaluate existing systems, and assess constructability.\n\nEstimating & Pre-Construction\n\nPrepare detailed electrical cost estimates, including material takeoffs, equipment pricing, and labor analysis.\nWork with vendors and subcontractors to obtain accurate quotes and scope alignment.\nDevelop budgets, bid proposals, and supporting documentation for design-build and plan-and-spec projects.\nAnalyze project risks, schedule impacts, and cost drivers.\nSupport hand-off to project managers once contracts are awarded.\n\nProject Coordination\n\nCollaborate with project teams to ensure design intent is maintained through construction.\nProvide technical support and problem-solving throughout the project lifecycle.\nParticipate in client meetings, design reviews, and project presentations.\n\nQualifications\nRequired\n\nBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.\n3–7+ years of experience in electrical system design (commercial).\nExperience with Bluebeam, Accubid, Trimble, or other estimating tools.\nField experience in electrical construction (5+ years).\nExperience with design-build project delivery and construction processes.\nStrong estimating background, including ability to produce material takeoffs and budgets.\nProficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, or similar design software.\nKnowledge of NEC, NFPA standards, and local codes.\nStrong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.\n\nPreferred\n\nExperience with BIM coordination.\nProfessional Engineer (PE) license.\nSKM, Easy Power, or related arc flash study software.\n\nCore Competencies\n\nTechnical accuracy and attention to detail\nAbility to balance engineering, cost, and constructability\nStrong problem-solving skills\nEffective communication with clients and internal teams\nAbility to manage multiple projects and deadlines\nTeam-oriented approach with a proactive mindset\n\nWork Environment & Physical Requirements\n\nOffice-based with periodic site visits.\nAbility to navigate job sites, including ladders, equipment rooms, and mechanical spaces.\nTravel as required for project meetings or field evaluations.\n\n \nPlease note the selected candidate will be required to submit to full pre-employment background and drug screenings.\n \n Equal Opportunity Employer Minorities/Women/Protected Veterans/Disabled
