Outdoor Plant Advisor

DescriptionThe Outdoor Plant Advisor is a highly customer-facing role responsible for creating an excellent shopping experience for outdoor plant customers. This position assists shoppers with plant selection, identification, care guidance, substitutions, and basic landscape design recommendations. The Advisor serves as the primary in-store expert on outdoor plants, helping customers make confident, informed purchasing decisions while representing Five Oaks with professionalism and enthusiasm.Key ResponsibilitiesGreet and assist customers on the sales floor in a friendly, knowledgeable manner Identify trees, shrubs, perennials, annuals, and other outdoor plants Make personalized plant recommendations based on customer needs, site conditions, and budgets Provide clear guidance on planting, watering, fertilizing, pruning, and general plant care Suggest appropriate alternatives when requested items are unavailable Help customers troubleshoot plant health and pest issues Support merchandising and organization of outdoor plant displays Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming retail environmentRequirementsDeep knowledge of outdoor plants, including identification and care Previous customer service or retail experience Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to assess customer needs and provide practical recommendations Passion for gardening, landscaping, and plant care Ability to work on feet for extended periods and in outdoor conditions Team-oriented attitude with a willingness to help wherever needed Basic familiarity with common landscaping principles preferred
