Job Description The Nurse Practitioner (NP) includes a range of responsibilities and duties that are essential for providing comprehensive care to patients across various stages of life. NPs are responsible for performing physical examinations, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, and prescribe medications under state-regulated authority. They also have the ability to perform some procedures under the supervision of a physician. These responsibilities may include:Patient Care: Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including history taking, physical examinations, and health screeningsDiagnosis and Treatment: Identify and manage acute and chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, asthma, and infectionsPrescribing and Procedures: Prescribe medications, perform minor procedures, and interpret lab and imaging resultsHealth Promotion: Educate patients on preventive care, healthy lifestyle choices, and disease managementCare Coordination: Collaborate with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and social workers to ensure comprehensive, patient-centered careDocumentation: Maintaining accurate and complete records of patient care and diagnoses.QUALIFICATIONSMaster of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from an accredited programCurrent NP license and certification in a specialty areaExperience working in a clinical settingProficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems.Experience in performing minor medical procedures.Registered Nurse (RN) license.Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification may be required.
