Human Resources ManagerLocation: Richmond, IndianaWork Model: Onsite (Mon–Fri)Environment: 24/7 / 365 Manufacturing PlantFacility: ~100 employees | Union site – UAW Local #1073 | HR responsibility for ~80 union employeesThis role partners closely with plant leadership and will design, implement, and administer HR programs while driving employee relations, compliance, staffing, and labor relations in a union manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate is firm, able to "call out BS," understands the union contract, and can still build strong working relationships.Reporting To: Group HR ManagerScope: Supports plant leadership team and HR processes for union workforceKey ResponsibilitiesEmployee Relations & EngagementMaintain a strong "open door" employee relations cultureBuild visibility and trust on the floor (active engagement with hourly teams)Coordinate employee programs, community events, and workforce activitiesCreate and deliver internal employee communicationsChampion Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiativesLead investigations and ensure consistent responses to:Harassment/discrimination claimsEthics hotline callsEEOC/state chargesCoach/counsel supervisors and leadership on:Discipline practicesEmployee relations concernsPerformance issues and corrective actionsLabor / Union RelationsAdminister and interpret the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA)Support labor strategy developmentParticipate in contract negotiationsHandle union issues through:Grievance resolutionArbitration supportHR Business PartnershipAlign HR initiatives with plant/business strategyIdentify and communicate business goals and how HR supports performanceSupport annual plant goals through workforce planning and organizational supportStaffing, Onboarding & Workforce PlanningDrive hourly staffing end-to-end:Sourcing strategyHiring coordinationOnboarding executionDevelop/support crew models and provide workforce data to leadershipDetermine training needs and manage training logisticsPlan and support layoffs/curtailments when requiredCompliance & HR OperationsEnsure compliance with federal/state employment regulations and JM policiesLead and facilitate key HR cycles including:Compensation planningEconomic packagesOpen enrollmentSuccession planningParticipate in company-wide HR projects across business units/geographiesPartner with EH&S to support safety performance improvementsMay supervise HR Generalists or HR Services Specialists (as assigned)Required QualificationsBachelor's degree + 5+ years HR experience(OR no bachelor's degree with 10+ years HR experience )Minimum 1 year HR experience in manufacturing or similar environmentUnion/Labor Relations experience requiredStrong working knowledge of:Wage & hourEEOCFMLA / FLSAOSHA basicsStrong investigation + discipline expertiseStrong communication skills (written & verbal) across all levelsStrong Excel skillsAbility to influence and drive decisions independentlyPreferred Qualifications: Experience using HCM systems for HR operations (preferred: Workday HCM)Recruiter Submission Template –Full Name:Degree Major with University and Completion Year:Do you have a Bachelor's degree?
