Job DescriptionSelectek is seeking multiple Civil Survey Technicians / Crew Chiefs to support and/or lead field survey operations for a variety of land development and construction projects. This role can be structured for entry-level technicians or experienced crew chiefs, with responsibilities scaling based on experience level.The ideal candidate will assist with or oversee field data collection, manage survey equipment, and ensure accurate, high-quality survey deliverables while working closely with project managers and engineering teams.Responsibilities:Field Survey OperationsPerform field surveys including: Boundary, ALTA, topographic, right-of-way, and construction layout surveysSet up and operate survey equipment such as GPS, total stations, and laser scannersCollect, record, and verify accurate field dataLayout & ControlEstablish control points, benchmarks, and survey layoutsPerform construction staking, grade checks, and as-built verificationData Management & QA/QCMaintain field notes, photos, and daily reportsDownload and organize survey data for field-to-office workflowsPerform quality control checks to ensure data accuracy and completenessProject Coordination (Crew Chief-Level)Collaborate with project managers and engineers on project planning, timelines, and scopeCommunicate field progress, issues, and site conditions with stakeholdersLeadership & Mentorship (Crew Chief-Level)Lead and supervise survey crews in the fieldAssign tasks, provide direction, and ensure adherence to proceduresTrain and mentor survey techniciansEquipment & SafetyMaintain and calibrate survey equipment and company vehiclesFollow and enforce safety procedures and identify potential hazardsRequired:• High school diploma or equivalent• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to job sites• Ability to work outdoors in varying terrain and weather conditionsPreferred:• CST (Certified Survey Technician), SIT, or PLS certification• Experience with Trimble or similar survey equipment and software• Exposure to CAD/GIS and survey data processing workflowsJob order details:Perform field surveys including: Boundary, ALTA, topographic, right-of-way, and construction layout surveysSet up and operate survey equipment such as GPS, total stations, and laser scannersCollect, record, and verify accurate field dataSponsorship: U.S. Citizen or Green Card holderPay range: $50,000 - $110,000 (if the candidate has a PLS, they would be at the higher salary)Location of job: Madison, Milwaukee, Sheboygan or AppletonHours and shift: 1st shift/ onsite onlyWork from home/remote: NoTravel: Mostly localWork attire: Business CasualDoes the client require a background check and drug test?
