Juvenile Justice Supervision And Child Welfare Case ManagementThis position requires a highly responsible individual who will provide integrated juvenile justice supervision and child welfare case management for youth who are dually involved in delinquency and dependency in Miami-Dade County. This position requires a dual certification as a Juvenile Probation Officer (JPO) and Child Welfare Case Manager (CWCM) and performs all functions required under applicable Florida Statutes, Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ)/ Department of Children and Families (DCF) administrative rules, policies, and contract requirements. The Unified Case Manager Supervisor (UCMS) shall partner with an Intensive In-Home Multidisciplinary Behavioral Health Team to coordinate treatment, ensure youth compliance with court orders and supervision conditions. Make an impact in a child's life and in the community! Specific Areas of Responsibility to PositionA. Staff Supervision & Performance Management Provides day-to-day supervision, coaching, and oversight of Unified Case Managers to ensure compliance with Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) and Department of Children and Families (DCF) requirements. Ensures continuity of required supervision activities (including contacts, electronic monitoring, court reporting, and safety planning) during staff absences and coverage needs. Supports staff professional development, completion of required training, and maintenance of dual certifications and competencies. Conducts regular individual and group supervision focused on safety decision-making, delinquency supervision, documentation quality, and court preparedness. Addresses performance concerns through coaching, corrective action plans (CAPs), and performance improvement plans (PIPs), when necessary. B. Juvenile Justice (Delinquency) Supervision Oversight & Case Reviews Ensures UCMS understands and performs all juvenile probation supervision requirements under Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) rules, policies, and contract provisions. Reviews initial Youth Empowered Success (YES) Plans for compliance prior to signature, ensuring alignment with risk level, treatment needs, and court orders. Conducts an initial supervisory review within 30 calendar days of youth placement (following initial YES Plan signatures). Conducts 90-day supervisory reviews for all youth and 30-day supervisory reviews for youth on intensive supervision, as required by policy. Ensures supervisory reviews are documented in Juvenile Justice Information System (JJIS) Case Notebook and includes clear guidance for the next service period. Ensure correlation between delinquency supervision strategies, dependency case management actions, and behavioral health interventions. C. Court Document Review, Approval & Legal Compliance Reviews and approves all court-bound delinquency documents, including but not limited to: State Attorney Recommendations (SAR) Pre- and Post-Disposition Reports (PDRs) Affidavits/Petitions for Violation of Probation Violations of Supervised Release Affidavits Ensures approvals are properly indicated in JJIS (where applicable) and documented in the Juvenile Justice Information System (JJIS) Case Notebook. Reviews and approves dependency court reports, judicial reviews, permanency documentation, and safety-related filings for accuracy and legal sufficiency. Supports and prepares staff for court testimony, ensuring clear articulation of safety decisions, supervision compliance, and permanency recommendations. D. JJIS Quality Assurance & Data Integrity Monitor Juvenile Justice Information System (JJIS) documentation quality and compliance, including Case Notebook entries, Document Library uploads, Face Sheet accuracy, and Youth Requirements. Ensures compliance with timelines, business rules, and documentation standards. Identifies documentation deficits & implements coaching, corrective actions, or targeted trainings to remediate issues. Analyzes data trends to identify systemic risks and improvement opportunities. E. Dependency Case Management Oversight Ensures UCMs provide child welfare services consistent with Chapter 39, Chapter 409, Division 65C, F.A.C., DCF policies, and lead agency contracts. Ensures accurate identification of present and impending danger threats and consistent application of Safety Methodology. Reviews, approves, and monitors behaviorally specific safety plans, ensuring plans address identified danger threats using the least intrusive means necessary. Ensures safety plans remain in place as long as danger threats exist and caregiver protective capacity is insufficient. Ensures timely development and review of case plans, permanency goals, and conditions for return. Coordinates with Department of Children and families (DCF)/CFCN monitoring expectations, ensuring staff readiness for reviews, case consultations, and corrective action planning. F. Multidisciplinary Team Coordination & Integrated Practice Ensures UCM participation in multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings and Individualized Treatment Plan (ITP) reviews at required intervals (every 60 days or less). Promotes integrated case planning, ensuring treatment goals and progress inform YES Plans, supervision strategies, safety planning, and dependency permanency decisions. Supports coordinated discharge planning and continuity of care across systems. G. Program Coordination & Stakeholder Collaboration Serves as a primary liaison to Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) leadership (including CPO or designee), DCF/CBC partners, dependency and delinquency courts, and service providers. Ensures program representation at weekly Supervised Release Review Committee (SRRC) meetings when applicable. Ensures compliance with additional Prolific Juvenile Offender (PJO) contact and supervision requirements when applicable.
