FAECOM operates as an extension of clients’ teams, focusing on technical excellence, responsive communication, and efficient project delivery to reduce risk and bring concepts to successful construction.Role Description The Structural Engineer will provide structural design and analysis for building projects, ensuring safe, efficient, and code-compliant solutions for various materials such as steel, concrete, wood, and modular systems. Day-to-day responsibilities include performing structural calculations, preparing and reviewing engineering drawings and specifications, coordinating with architects, MEP engineers, and contractors, and supporting BIM and CAD-based documentation. The role involves evaluating constructability, assisting with value engineering, participating in third-party reviews, and responding to field inquiries during construction. The Structural Engineer will collaborate with project teams to maintain quality, meet deadlines, and support clear communication with clients and stakeholders. This is a full-time, on-site role based in the Greater Seattle Area.QualificationsStrong proficiency in Structural Engineering and Structural Analysis, with experience designing building systems using multiple materials.Background in Civil Engineering, with knowledge of relevant building codes, standards, and site-related considerations.Ability to perform accurate engineering Calculations to support design decisions, load paths, and member sizing.Hands-on experience with Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools and familiarity with BIM workflows for coordinated documentation.Bachelor’s degree or higher in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a closely related field.Professional Engineer (PE) license in Washington State or eligibility to obtain licensure within a reasonable timeframe.Experience with commercial, multifamily, or mixed-use projects; modular or industrial project experience is a plus.Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary project teams.Attention to detail, commitment to quality control, and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.Experience with structural design software (e.g., ETABS, SAP2000, RISA, or similar) is beneficial.
