Construction Attorney Advisor
Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Construction Attorney Advisor to join our legal team.
Previous experience in supporting attorneys at a law firm, non-profit, or government agency. Required 1 year Working knowledge of the District of Columbia Municipal Regulations (DCMR) or comparable regulations in other jurisdictions.
Required 1-2 years Experience reviewing and revising code amendments to follow relevant code changes as set forth by ICC or standards-setting organizations.
Desired 1-2 years Strong computer skills, including but not limited to, Microsoft Office 365.
Excellent analytical skills to resolve problems and make recommendations.
Required 3-5 years Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Required 3-5 yearsThe contractor shall assist in providing sound legal advice and reviewing various legal documents and relevant case law to determine whether execution of proposed actions is supported by law.
Provides statements of reasons, and drafts language necessary to obviate objections to proposed actions.
The contractor shall assist in examining and analyzing proposed orders, legislation, and other legal documents from various sources for legal sufficiency, as to both form and substance. Performs research, providing oral and written opinions.
The contractor shall assist in preparing memoranda on legal questions and proposals and draft documents for consideration by the concerned administrative agency.
Assists in consulting with officials of various administrative agencies, providing advice as to the extent of their legal duties and power.
The contractor shall assist in conducting a continuing review and evaluation of existing District of Columbia and Federal statutes and regulations to determine the need for new regulations or amendments, new administrative and enforcement procedures, and to provide clarification in instances of ambiguities or conflict with other laws and regulations.
Assists in recommending and drafting new enabling legislation and amendments to existing legislation, for review and approval, as appropriate.
The contractor shall review and prepare citations, Notices of Non-Compliance, Notices of Violation, administrative search warrants, summary suspensions, cease and desist orders, compliance orders, and other documents used for enforcement actions.
The contractor shall assist Office of General Counsel attorneys in representing the agency in complex administrative hearings, and prepare evidence, briefs, motions, and other documents to support cases, as necessary.
The contractor shall provide weekly timesheets which must be signed by the Contract Administrator for approval.
The contractor shall submit monthly status report as determined by management in concert with the Program Manager. • The contractor shall perform other duties as required.
Pay: $87,300.45 - $105,136.02 per year
