And toolsSkill in use of operation of hand tools and a variety of commercial type equipment involved in grounds maintenanceMust have a positive attitude with the willingness and desire to learn new skills Ability to operate light power maintenance tools and equipment such as small tractors, box scrappers, riding mowers, and attachments, etc.Ability to adjust to changing work demands, procedures, technology, and/or prioritiesAbility to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and the publicFunctions and DutiesEssential Functions and Duties:Operates variety of commercial type equipment including, but not limited to; riding mowers, mini-excavator, backhoe, front end loader, pressure washer, trucks, trailers, dump trucks, bucket trucks, tractors with various attachments, aerifiers, blowers, graders, skid loader, rollers, and other related grounds maintenance equipment in order to maintain parks and athletic fields in an outdoor setting.Operates and transports equipment requiring a Commercial Driver's License.Loads, unloads trucks and trailers with heavy equipment and small equipment.Cleans, performs basic preventative maintenance/repairs, and prepares equipment for operations. (Washes, fuels, oils, lubes, clean/change air filters, etc.)Occasionally directs and oversees the work of other team members as assigned. After 25 years of service, employees may be eligible for additional benefits through the Deferred Retirement Option Plan (DROP).
