Department of Dermatology at Our OrganizationWe are currently seeking a skilled Mohs micrographic surgeon to take on the role of Director of Mohs Surgery and Program Director for our ACGME-accredited Micrographic Surgery and Dermatologic Oncology (MSDO) Fellowship.Position Overview and Candidate QualificationsThis role presents an exceptional chance to lead and enhance an established Mohs surgery program at one of the leading academic medical institutions in the country.As the head of this division, the Director will concentrate on advanced cutaneous oncology, Mohs surgery, and intricate reconstruction within a tertiary academic setting. The position emphasizes a strong dedication to delivering high-quality healthcare across our Washington Heights and midtown Manhattan locations, with opportunities for future growth into Westchester. The Director will manage the clinical operations of the Mohs unit, promote its strategic development, and ensure alignment with the institution's goals and the academic mission of the MSDO Fellowship.The ideal candidate will handle high-risk and complex skin cancer cases while working closely with multidisciplinary oncology and surgical teams. Responsibilities include directly supervising the training of MSDO fellows, overseeing the surgical curriculum for dermatology residents, and mentoring medical students and other trainees. The Director will also initiate clinical and translational research projects in cutaneous oncology and reconstructive outcomes, collaborating with our dermatology biobank to advance research in skin biology and diseases across the institution.QualificationsMD, DO, or an equivalent foreign degree.Completion of an ACGME-accredited dermatology residency and a fellowship in Micrographic Surgery & Dermatologic Oncology.Board certification in Dermatology and Micrographic Surgery & Dermatologic Oncology.A minimum of 5 years of experience in an academic setting.Eligibility to obtain a New York State medical license and a valid DEA certificate.The faculty appointment at our organization will be based on experience and will include a competitive compensation package along with comprehensive benefits.About the DepartmentThe Department of Dermatology at our organization is recognized nationally for its excellence in clinical care, education, and research.
