This position is based out of our Riverside Missouri facility.What You’ll DoAs a Welder, you will play a mission-critical role in keeping our customers up and running! You’ll use your expertise, abilities, and problem-solving skills to fabricate and repair equipment to bring positive results for customers while maintaining the highest quality standards.Key ResponsibilitiesDaily responsibilities will include but are not limited to reading and interpret blueprints or digital models.Move steel with a forklift and overhead crane.Cut material to size using a band saw, cutting torch or grinder.Layout parts and prep material for welding.Setup machines and weld carbon and stainless steels with GMAW, FCAW, SMAW, and GTAW processes.Weld in all positionsPass various types of visual and nondestructive inspections on completed workFollow safety regulations and PPE requirementsMaintain a neat and clean work areaMust supply welding hood and hand toolsWork alone or as a teamContinuous learning of products, applications, technology, market conditions and competitive advantages.RequiredSkills & QualificationsHigh school diploma or GEDDesire and ability to work in a fast paced and continuously changing fieldAbility to work overtime on short noticeHigh level communication and organization skills, as well as a positive attitude towards customer serviceSolid basic computer knowledgeWorks well independently or with a teamAbility to manually lift and maneuver heavy objects, parts, equipment and materialsAbility to work under little supervisionCustomer-first attitudeAbility to work outdoors under extreme weather conditionsAdaptable and comfortable with changing environments and protocols, understanding other duties might be requiredPreferredDegree from a Technical or Vocational school in pipe and structural weldingPrevious experience in industrial construction or maintenanceWhy Work With Us?At Cogent, you’re not just an employee—you’re an owner.
