Painter 1We are looking for a Painter 1 to join our Paint Line team in our Transportation & Infrastructure (T&I) Business Unit. The Painter 1 is responsible for the preparation and primer application in the manufacture of various pole products in accordance with product specifications. This Painter 1 will be operating the Blaster within the Paint Line as part of their weekly rotation.Location: Winsted, MN Salary Range: $21.46 - 25.25 per hour (non-exempt) Shift Schedule : 1st shift Monday Thursday 5am 3pm Shift Differential : 1st shift - N/AAs a Painter 1, you will:Operate blast and prime booth using a variety of techniques to prepare and paint product surfaces, according to product specificationsInspects and corrects defects in products and equipmentPrepare surfaces for paintingPrepare and replace primer cans for use in the paint booth systemMonitor the production board and internal paperwork to perform tasks in the designated sequenceEnter job data in production tracking systemClean up work area, supplies, and equipmentMove and organize incoming paint into storage areaMonitor and report paint inventoryMay mix paint products as requiredAccountable for on-time execution of Capacity Plan/ Execute Daily PitchPerform prescribed preventative maintenance on machines as requiredCommunicate relevant information and concerns positively and effectively to others in timely mannerPerform work at the appropriate pace to maintain quality and productivity requirements using MMC proceduresEnsure use of safe work procedures and wear all required PPE.Follow company policies in relation to safety, cleanliness, attendance etc.Perform other duties as assigned or requestedRole Qualifications as a Painter 1:Knowledge of production operations involving liquid painting of manufactured products requiring standard finishes mainly for protective coverage or secondary finishKnowledge in methods and techniques related to painting in specialized areas and work environmentsProficient knowledge in interpreting blueprints and mechanical drawingsUnderstanding of guidelines for safe handling and disposal of paint and hazardous chemicalsKnowledge of primers (epoxy/zinc)Ability to read Mill GaugesAbility to perform basic shop math functionsAbility to read and understand required internal manufacturing paperworkAbility to electronically record production informationEffective and appropriate oral and written communication skills, including legible handwriting in EnglishWork with others as part of a high-performance teamAdapt to changing work prioritiesAble to work under limited supervision using standardized practices and/or proceduresAccept and apply on the job training to advance your skill levelRemain positive in challenging work environmentsPhysical Demands (Production Roles):This position requires the individual to wear and work in company-provided personal protective equipment (PPE). This position requires that the individual can lift a minimum of 50lbs. And, if applicable, can maneuver large, cumbersome equipment with the use of an overhead crane and/or forklift. Must be able to work in, on, or around equipment and machinery.
