Position SummaryNew Construction Crew Lead is responsible for the skilled installation, troubleshooting, and commissioning of HVAC systems on residential and commercial construction projects. This role requires extensive technical expertise, adherence to safety standards, and the ability to mentor apprentices and support the installation team to ensure quality workmanship and timely project completion.$1500 Signon BonusEssential Duties and ResponsibilitiesPerform advanced installation of HVAC systems, including ductwork, piping, controls, and mechanical equipment, on new construction sitesRead and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to ensure accurate system layoutInstall, test, and calibrate HVAC equipment, ensuring compliance with manufacturer specifications and building codesProvide mentorship and guidance to apprentices and junior installersInspect work for quality, completeness, and code complianceCollaborate with project managers, general contractors, and other trades to ensure smooth project executionMaintain a safe and organized job site, following OSHA standards and company safety policiesOperate and maintain hand tools, power tools, and specialized installation equipmentDocument work completed, materials used, and any deviations or issues encounteredTroubleshoot and resolve installation challenges effectivelyProvide professional customer service when interacting with clients or other tradesParticipate in ongoing training, safety meetings, and technical skill developmentPerform other related duties as assignedQualificationsEducation & ExperienceHigh school diploma or GED requiredCompletion of HVAC apprenticeship or equivalent experience3–5+ years of experience in HVAC installation on new construction projectsProven ability to work independently and lead team members on-siteLicenses & CertificationsValid driver's license with acceptable driving recordEPA Section 608 Certification (required if working with refrigerants)Additional certifications (NATE, manufacturer-specific, hydronics, or control systems) are preferredKnowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesExpert knowledge of HVAC systems, ductwork, piping, controls, and equipment installationAbility to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprintsStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsAbility to train and mentor apprentices and junior team membersExcellent communication and customer service skillsKnowledge of safety standards, building codes, and compliance requirementsStrong organizational and time management skillsProficiency with hand tools, power tools, and specialized installation equipmentPhysical DemandsAbility to lift up to 75 pounds or moreAbility to stand, walk, kneel, crouch, climb ladders or scaffolding, and work at heightsAbility to work in confined spaces and on elevated platformsAbility to work in varying indoor and outdoor conditionsWork EnvironmentResidential and commercial construction job sitesExposure to dust, noise, temperature extremes, and mechanical equipmentField-based work with frequent travel between job sitesScheduleTypically Monday through ThursdayOvertime, weekends, or extended hours may be required to meet project deadlinesTravel RequirementsLocal travel within the assigned service territoryOccasional regional travel may be required for larger projectsPerformance ExpectationsComplete installations according to company quality standards, building codes, and project specificationsMentor apprentices and support team developmentMaintain high levels of safety, productivity, and customer satisfactionComplete, accurate, and timely documentation of work performedEqual Employment Opportunity StatementThe Company is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate based on race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, genetic information, or any other protected status.DisclaimerThis job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
