Systems Software Programmer (.NET / C#) — Onsite in Tallahassee, FL (Contract)We're hiring an experienced Systems Software Programmer to maintain and enhance a suite of established .NET web applications running on Microsoft SQL Server. This is a hands-on, maintenance-mode role: you'll keep mission-critical systems stable, secure, and current through analysis, development, debugging, testing, deployment, and documentation. You'll work side by side with business and technical staff in JAD sessions, design and code reviews, and testing to deliver changes driven by new business needs and regulatory or legislative updates.This is an onsite contract role in Tallahassee, FL. Visa-independent candidates are preferred (U.S. Citizens and Green Card holders).What you'll doAnalyze, design, develop, modify, test, debug, and maintain .NET web applicationsTranslate functional requirements into technical specifications developers can build fromWork across a 3-tier architecture and resolve issues to root causeBuild and maintain CI/CD pipelines; manage source control, branching, pull requests, and code reviewsGenerate and maintain reports (SSRS / Active Reports)Create and maintain technical documentationParticipate in JAD sessions, design, development and testing meetings, and code reviewsRequired experienceBachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Information Systems, Computer Programming, or a related field, or equivalent work experience on a year-for-year basis7+ years with C#, .NET, ASP.NET, .NET Framework 4, MVC, WCF, Web API, Entity Framework, nHibernate, JavaScript, AngularJS, jQuery, JSON, Bootstrap, and MS SQL Server5+ years with .NET Core 6.0+, ASP.NET Identity Core, Azure AD/B2C, ReactJS, EF Core 6.0+, MVC 5, and REST/Web APIs7+ years translating functional specs into technical specs and designing, developing, testing, and maintaining applications of similar size and complexity7+ years with SSRS, SSIS, and GrapeCity Active Reports7+ years with workflow and routing, role-based security, and 3-tier architectureStrong experience with Azure DevOps, TFS, and Git, branching strategies (GitFlow), pull requests, and CI/CD (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps)Experience creating technical documentation and working with stakeholders to gather requirements and resolve issuesNice to haveGeocoding / Google Maps APIsImaging toolkits such as gdPictureForm-builder applicationsAzure or AWS cloud servicesExperience maintaining large .NET / SQL Server applications in a public-sector environmentOther requirementsMust be able to pass a Level 2 background checkMust obtain CJIS certification and complete security awareness training shortly after startOnsite in Tallahassee, FL; schedule changes are coordinated with the managerSoft skillsExcellent written and verbal communication; able to present complex material to varied audiencesStrong problem-solving and root-cause analysisAble to work independently, follow a plan, meet deadlines, and produce deliverables
