Production Manager

JOB SUMMARY  The Production Manager is responsible for leading and supervising a team of technicians during the assembly, installation, troubleshooting, and commissioning of industrial automation systems. The role includes coordinating daily production and project activities, supporting hands-on electrical, mechanical, and automation-related tasks, and ensuring schedules and quality standards are achieved.  Team Leadership & Supervision Supervise daily team activities, assign and schedule team members to projects, and ensure timely project execution. Act as the main point of contact for departmental issues and support team performance through coaching and mentorship. Lead by example, fostering a culture of creativity, continuous improvement, and accountability. Provide technical guidance and take responsibility for the technical output and quality assurance of automation projects. Support problem-solving and maintain high engineering standards throughout the project lifecycle. Serve as the central communication link between project managers, designers, and customers. Ensure alignment across departments through proactive communication, status reporting, and coordination. Continuously develop, document, and improve team workflows, tools, and processes to drive efficiency and innovation. Project Execution & Supervision Lead the assembly and installation of automation and robotic systems, including hardware and wiring. Verify power and communication systems, and ensure functional integrity. Oversee software installation, debugging, and safety validation per international safety standards. Configure and optimize parameters, sequences, and robotic positions in alignment with project specifications. Ensure system performance and quality conforms to the sales order and design intent. Participate meeting for concept review to support the design of upcoming projects Testing & Commissioning Manage and perform Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), including dry and full cycles of automation cells. Lead on-site installation and commissioning, including mechanical/electrical installation and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT). Ensure completion of SAT documentation and successful sign-off with the customer.  QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS  Educational/Training Requirement:   Bachelor Degree in Mechatronics or equivalent experience  Experience:  Minimum of 6 years’ related experience in robotic or automation is required  Preferred Robot experience: KUKA, Staubli, ABB, Fanuc  Preferred Control experience: Siemens, Allen Bradley Preferred software experience with SolidWorks, ERP systems, Teamcenter, and Microsoft Office  Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:  Excellent troubleshooting skills with high attention to detail  Knowledge of Human Machine Interfaces (HMI), control system processors, industrial instrumentation, control system analog & digital I/O, control system networks (EtherCAT, Ethernet, Profinet)  Knowledge in graphical & ladder logic programming code  Knowledge in reading mechanical drawings, pneumatic and electrical schematics  Perform work on multiple projects and tasks  Articulate technical information exchanges in both verbal and written form  Operation of an overhead crane and forklift  Good communication skills as this role develops and maintains relationships both internally   (e.g., employees within and outside of own department) and externally  (e.g., customers), mainly to supply and/or interpret information.   OTHER REQUIREMENTS  Travel Requirements:  Travel time per year:  25-35% Travel period: up to 4 weeks Travel to other countries is required Valid passport is required  Physical Requirements: This role requires prolonged periods of sitting and computer work, including keyboarding for more than two hours at a time on a regular basis.
