Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Assistant Project Manager (APM) to join our team. In this role, you’ll work closely with Project Managers to plan, coordinate, and execute commercial construction projects from inception to completion. The APM plays a critical role in keeping projects organized, on schedule, and within budget, while ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities
Project Coordination: Support the Project Manager in overseeing all phases of tenant improvement and commercial construction projects.
Documentation & Reporting: Prepare and maintain project records, including contracts, change orders, RFIs, submittals, meeting minutes, and progress updates.
Scheduling: Assist with creating, updating, and managing project schedules; coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
Budget Tracking: Monitor project costs, review invoices for accuracy, and prepare budget reports.
Stakeholder Communication: Serve as a primary point of contact between internal teams, clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors.
Quality & Safety Oversight: Participate in site visits to verify workmanship, monitor safety compliance, and document any issues or required corrective actions.
Problem Solving: Anticipate potential challenges, propose solutions, and help maintain project momentum.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (preferred).
1–3 years of experience in commercial construction; tenant improvement experience is a plus.
Working knowledge of construction processes, materials, and industry best practices.
Proficiency with Procore and Microsoft Project (or similar project management tools).
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
A collaborative mindset with the ability to work independently when needed.
Attention to detail and a proactive, solution-oriented approach.
