Medical Director – Adult PsychiatryLocation: Washington State (Hybrid possible) Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Compensation: $283,200 – $346,400 (DOE)OverviewSeeking a Medical Director of Adult Psychiatry to provide strategic and operational leadership within a community-based behavioral health setting serving approximately 2,000 patients, including immigrant and refugee populations.This is a 90% administrative and 10% clinical role, designed for a physician interested in leadership, program development, and system-level impact.Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & OperationsProvide oversight of adult psychiatric servicesManage and supervise a team of approximately 10 providers (psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, resident)Oversee hiring, onboarding, performance management, and staffing capacityDirect day-to-day clinical operationsLead medical staff meetings and participate in external leadership forumsCollaborate with pharmacy and primary care teamsQuality & ComplianceEnsure delivery of high-quality, compliant careLead quality assurance and risk management initiativesDevelop and implement clinical policies and protocolsMaintain compliance with regulatory standardsStrategic & Program DevelopmentLead transition to Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) statusDevelop and implement a Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) programSupport expansion into Child and Adolescent psychiatry servicesGuide overall behavioral health strategyClinical Responsibilities (10%)Conduct psychiatric evaluationsProvide medication managementPrescribe and monitor psychotropic medicationsParticipate in multidisciplinary care teamsQualificationsRequiredMD or DO from an accredited institutionActive Washington State medical license and DEA licenseMinimum 5 years of experience treating mental illnessAt least 2 years of leadership experience in a clinical settingPreferredExperience in community behavioral healthExperience working with immigrant and refugee populationsDesired SkillsStrong leadership and administrative capabilitiesExperience with integrated care modelsKnowledge of psychiatric best practices and regulatory complianceAbility to supervise, mentor, and develop clinical staffExperience with EHR systems (EPIC preferred)Strong communication and collaboration skillsCultural humility and trauma-informed care approachBenefitsEmployer-paid medical coverage (employee-only plan)Employer contribution toward dependent coverageEmployer-paid life, AD&D, and long-term disability insuranceRetirement plans including 403(b) and pension optionPaid time off including holidays, vacation, sick leave, and wellness leaveCommuter benefitsIT equipment and telecommuting supportEmployee Assistance Program
