Position DescriptionAt a GlanceLegrand has an exciting opportunity for a Quality Enginerr to join the Kenall Team in Kenosha, WI.About the RoleWe're seeking a detail‐driven, proactive Quality Engineer to join our team in ensuring that every lighting product we manufacture meets the highest standards of performance, safety, and reliability. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on solving problems, improving processes, and collaborating across engineering, production, and supply chain teams.Key Responsibilities (What You'll do)Maintain and improve quality control systems and procedures for lighting products and componentsLead root‐cause analysis and corrective/preventive action (CAPA) activities for internal issues, supplier defects, and customer feedbackConduct product and process audits to ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and internal specificationsCollaborate with design engineering on new product introductions (NPI), ensuring quality requirements are built into designs and manufacturing processesAnalyze production data to identify trends, drive continuous improvement, and reduce scrap, rework, and warranty claimsWork closely with suppliers to establish quality expectations, resolve nonconformances, and improve incoming material qualityCreate and maintain documentation including control plans, inspection criteria, test procedures, and quality reportsSupport testing and validation of lighting products, including electrical and mechanical performance evaluationsTrain production staff on quality standards, inspection techniques, and best practicesParticipate in cross‐functional teams focused on process optimization, cost reduction, and product reliabilityQualificationsQualifications (What You Bring)Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related field) or equivalent work experience2-5 years of experience in quality engineering, preferably in lighting, electronics, or manufacturingStrong understanding of quality tools and methodologies (e.g., 8D, FMEA, SPC, PPAP, DOE)Familiarity with ISO 9001 or similar quality management systemsExperience with measurement tools, testing equipment, and inspection methodsAbility to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and electrical schematicsExcellent analytical, communication, and problem‐solving skillsProficiency with data analysis tools and quality software (e.g., Minitab, ERP/QMS systems)Preferred Skills (Bonus Points!)Experience in LED lighting or electrical component manufacturingKnowledge of UL, ETL, or other relevant safety certification standardsLean/Six Sigma certificationSupplier quality management experienceCompany InfoAbout LegrandLegrand is the global specialist in electrical and digital building infrastructures.
