Routing Optimization & Efficiency Supervisor

Job Location Dover, OH The routing optimization and efficient supervisor will be responsible for management of the routing team for both commercial and residential collection routes. Using management skills and computerized processes, it will guide the minimization of time spent and miles driven. The position will be responsible for the analytic review and audits to determine the success of the optimization route. Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED required Advanced computer skills necessary; Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint & Access proficiency Ability to convey complex directions to employees Ability to apply common sense understanding to draft and carry out detailed instructions Ability to identify and deal with problems involving a variety of variables in random situations, including problem solving Ability to perform root cause analysis to locate and eliminate waste within the team and the Company Required Skills: Ability to read and interpret a map Previous route optimization/efficiency experience in a related industry Significant experience with truck routing software Strong analytical and organizational skills Excellent time management skills Ability to meet strict deadlines Organized and processed oriented with the ability to train others Ability to motivate and manage teams Responsibilities and Duties: Must be able to direct and manage a group of 4 or more routing team members, including issuing discipline, performance appraisals and setting goals for team members. Must effectively manage and direct the activities of routing team members from remote locations and ensure efficiency goals and routes are properly determined and carried out. Work with the Operations Manager, Customer Service Managers, and staff to identify needs and issues with current routes and new business. Prepare and provide routing information for Municipality bids. Exercises independent judgment to create an implement routing solutions for waste/recycling routes. Master data for geocoding and communicating data changes or additions. Exercises independent judgment to build and maintain routing scenarios for maximum efficiency. Maintain routing database to ensure accurate goals for each route. Acts as a liaison between Operations and Routing Teams. All other duties as assigned by management.
