Our deep expertise in the industry and innovative technology empower us to help organizations reduce costs while improving risk management, quality and revenue growth.Our EHR Services practice is one of the fastest growing units within Optum Insight's Advisory and Implementations business, with over 600 professionals across the U.S. and Ireland dedicated to improving the healthcare delivery system through EHR and integrated applications and tools.Optum seeks an Epic Patient Access Analyst with hands‐on experience in EHR Services implementation and operation projects. The analyst will manage integration teams, train best practices, and align with EHR Services to ensure successful project execution.Solid candidates will demonstrate self‐motivation, individual leadership, and team collaboration. For hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, in‐office work is required a minimum of four days per week.Primary ResponsibilitiesProvide Epic product function and build for assigned Epic module related to Epic Patient Access applications including Prelude and CadenceCollaborate with end users to design and build the Epic system in a timely and professional manner and make corrective configuration or enhancementsWork closely with Patient Access users to design, build and improve scheduling, registration, admission, authorization, and patient throughput workflowsLead medium to large complexity Epic software upgrade initiatives or enhancements to workflows including the design, build, and test phasesMentor team members on Epic functionality as well as workflows, documentation, best practices, change management, etc.Serve as a subject matter expert for Epic Patient Access modules and workflowsParticipate in design and validation sessions and ensure appropriate documentation, follow‐up and issue escalation occursIdentify system optimization and enhancement opportunities and collaborate with vendors and other IT analysts in order to design and implement effective solutionsProvide support of application incidents reported through the help desk; including 24/7 on call coverage as requiredConfigure and build visit types, work queues, registration forms, referral templates, and provider recordsObtain and maintain in‐depth knowledge of software functionality; acquire and utilize knowledge of operational workflows to be implementedPerform in‐depth analysis of workflows, data collection, report details, and other technical issues associated with Epic softwareWork with trainers to develop and maintain application specific training curriculum and materialsAdhere to organization standards for system configuration and change controlDevelop solid relationships with end user communities, customers and business partnersAttend, participate in, and contribute to meetings throughout the facilityFacilitate communication with stakeholders from initial requirements to final implementationTroubleshoot and/or resolve application issues and elevate more complex issues as appropriateYou will be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that challenges you and provides clear direction on what it takes to succeed, as well as development opportunities for other roles you may be interested in.Required QualificationsActive / current Epic certification in Cadence and/or Prelude5+ years of healthcare experience2+ years of experience in an Epic analyst role with function and build experience2+ years of direct client healthcare domain knowledge in registration, real time eligibility and insurance verification2+ years of subject‐matter expertise (SME) in Epic Patient Access applications2+ years of knowledge of revenue cycle metrics, KPIs, and process improvement techniques related to these areasPreferred QualificationsActive / current Epic certification in RTE OR ReferralsCompleted Epic CEE (Continued Epic Education) to maintain certifications, proficiencies, and badges4+ years of knowledge in policies and procedures related to the operational functions2+ years of demonstrated ability and history of team management (informal or formal), cross‐team communication and leadership skillsProficiency with MS Excel, Visio, PowerPoint and SharePointKey CompetenciesExcellent time management, organizational, and prioritization skills and ability to balance multiple prioritiesIn‐depth knowledge of Epic EMR and the full implementation lifecycle of Epic's suite of EMR applicationsTeamwork and collaboration. The salary range for this role is $91,700 to $163,700 annually for full‐time employment.
