The Napoli's Cook I is responsible for assisting Cook(s) II by preparing ingredients, keeping the kitchen and eating areas clean and orderly, and by performing some of the simpler cooking functions such as salads, dressings, garnishes, desserts, various catering orders as assigned according to the daily prep list.* Native American hiring preference for qualified candidates.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSChop, dice, and cut various meats, cheeses, vegetables, and fruits for salad and sandwich preparation using hand knives and electric slicerCombine various ingredients and create salads, dishes and desserts as well as buffet items for service to the appropriate wait staff and/or customersWash, peel and/or cut various foods to prepare for cooking or servingWeigh or measure ingredients for food prep and waste logsPrepare dressings and cold sauces in accordance with restaurant needsMaintain proper food rotation and temperatures procedures at all times for pantry, kitchen, and buffet lineStore and label food in designated containers and storage areas to prevent spoilagePromptly report equipment and food quality problems and product shortages to kitchen supervisorEnsure quality and visual presentation of food producedMake sure all areas assigned are clean and free of debrisPerform miscellaneous duties as assignedMust follow all safety and sanitation rules and regulationsFollow all general and department policies and proceduresQUALIFICATIONSExperience in high volume food preparation preferredKnowledge of safe and sanitary food handling techniques preferredAbility to use commercial kitchen equipmentAbility to follow verbal and written instructionsMust possess outstanding interpersonal communications skills to effectively interface with guests and/or team membersStrong organization, prioritization and multiple-tasking skillsStrong attention to detail, and a commitment to qualityHighly adaptable with the ability to adjust to change in a positive mannerAbility to apply basic mathematical concepts such as adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividingWhy work for 7 Cedars?Located on the scenic Olympic Peninsula, resort properties include 7 Cedars Casino + Hotel, Cedars at Dungeness Golf Course, and the Longhouse Market & Deli.
