Journeyman Plumber (Top Secret Clearance Required)Location: Washington, DCSchedule: Monday – Friday, 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM$43.65/hour plus health benefits 100% paid by the unionPosition SummaryWe are seeking a skilled Journeyman Plumber with an active Top Secret Clearance to support a secure government facility. This role is responsible for performing a wide range of plumbing functions including installation, maintenance, and repair of piping systems, fixtures, and infrastructure. The ideal candidate brings strong commercial experience, the ability to work independently, and a commitment to safety and precision in a high-security environment.Key Responsibilities Install, assemble, maintain, and repair pipes, fittings, fixtures, and plumbing systems for water, drainage, heating, sewer, and gas lines Interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine layout and installation requirements Inspect structures to identify obstructions and plan pipe routing accordingly Measure, cut, thread, and bend pipe using hand and power tools Install and repair systems using copper, cast iron, PVC/CPVC, and other materials Diagnose plumbing issues, determine root cause, and implement effective repairs or replacements Document work performed, including diagnostics, actions taken, and results Support installation of above-ground and underground piping systems Respond to emergency service calls and assess site conditions upon arrival Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in safe operating condition Follow OSHA and company safety standards at all times Collaborate with team members, supervisors, and government stakeholders Perform additional duties as assignedRequired Qualifications Active Top Secret Security Clearance (required) Journeyman Plumber License in Maryland, Virginia, or Washington, DC High school diploma or equivalent Minimum of 5 years of progressive commercial plumbing experience Strong knowledge of plumbing systems, including water distribution, drainage, and related infrastructure Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documents Comfortable using computers and basic software applications Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently and within a team environment Effective communication skills with both technical teams and government personnelTools & Equipment Standard plumbing tools, diagnostic/test equipment, and safety gear providedThis is a great opportunity to work on a stable, long-term government contract in a structured weekday schedule with early hours.
