We don't want you to live to work, we want you to work and live.What you can expect as an Interior Cabinet Technician at West Star:As an interior cabinet technician you will be fabricating complex high quality furniture and other wood-surfaced subassemblies for installation in world class business aircraft. Some of the tasks you may be required to complete include parts replacements or repair, basic electrical system installation and general mechanical applications. Modifications, repair, refurbishment and fabrication of aircraft cabinets are the primary functions. Job duties will vary each day and are designated by the Team Leader in charge of that project.You will be ESSENTIAL to many FUNCTIONS including:Performing general mechanical functions on aircraft cabinets and related systems. This includes items such as removal and installation of cabinets, modification, re-laminating, veneering or fabrication of new cabinets.Ability to perform minor modificationsPerform daily turnover sheetsMaintenance and repair of shop facility, equipment and toolingBasic computer skills to be able to navigate electronic training, manuals, and maintenance data basesCleanliness of shop and surroundingsWork independently when requiredEffectively and clearly communicate (i.e., speak, write, read) in EnglishAny other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor or management What you'll need to bring with you:Your Education:A High school diploma or equivalentYour Experience :Tech I0-2 years of experience in aviation, auto, RV, Marine or related fieldThese technicians have very limited to no knowledge of the positionThis level requires close supervision and constant check ins on work performanceTech II2 - 4 years of experience in aviation, auto, RV, Marine or related fieldConsiderable knowledge of the job with a broad understanding of detailed aspectsWill need general supervision and instructionsTech III4-6 years of experience in aviation, auto, RV, Marine or related fieldFull knowledge of the job and complete understanding of detailed aspectsLimited supervision is requiredNo instruction needed and can act as a trainer or mentor to other techniciansMaster Tech6+ years' experience in aviation interiorsExclusive knowledge in all areas of the jobThis technician is a subject matter expert with a wide and comprehensive knowledge of the jobYour Initiative:We're looking for team players who are self-motivated and able to perform in a fast-paced environment where working under specific deadlines and time constraints will be common.Your Sense of Responsibility:Attend work every day as scheduled to include overtime and weekend assignments.Notify supervisor in advance of shift starting if unable to work.Must have reliable transportation to get to work each and every day.Perform all work in accordance with Federal Aviation Administration guidelines.Follow all company and safety rules during performance of duties.Maintain customer oriented work habits.Assist in major modification work as neededOther particulars:Physical RequirementsLifts 50 lbs.Routine walking, bending and squatting or sitting.Routing or repetitive physical motion with arms and hands with emphasis on grasping, feeling and finger dexterity.Standing for long periods of time.Climb ladders and stairs, work in small restricted areasMental RequirementsUnderstanding and implementation of regulations and guidelines including but not limited to OSHA, Hazmat, etc.Work with others in a professional manner.Read and comprehend various documentsPlan and organize procedures and operationsSupervisionWork under supervision of assigned Team Leader and Interior ManagementMay be directed to supervise other technicians in some capacity.Work with minimal supervision when requiredWorking ConditionsThe majority of work will be performed in a hangar or shop environmentWork outside on the ramp on occasionVaried positions in and around the aircraft.Equipment UsedPersonal hand tools supplied by the mechanic.Electrical power tools such as sanders, saws, power drills, etc.Computer, copy machine etc.Compensation & Benefit InformationThe following information is disclosed according to state specific requirements. If the position applied to is not in a state with these requirements, the following information may not apply. The hourly rate for this position generally ranges between $20-$35. Actual hourly rate will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience and performance. Additional compensation in the form of a shift differential will be provided if the employee is assigned to an alternate shift. The range listed is just one component of the total compensation package.
