Associate General Counsel

Segue Sustainable Infrastructure is seeking an Associate General Counsel to join its in-house legal team to support Segue’s investment portfolio of development-stage clean energy infrastructure projects. A successful candidate will be commercially minded, solutions-oriented, and comfortable with the concept of risk and return. This role offers an opportunity to be on the frontlines, directly facilitating and adding value to infrastructure projects across a variety of technologies and markets, including solar, wind, battery energy storage, and transmission.Segue represents an opportunity to join a firm with established funds, track record, and industry standing, but with the vibrancy and growth profile of a ~5-year-old firm off to an exciting start. Focused direct experience in at least one of the following areas is a strong plus: renewable energy transactions, corporate equity investments, project finance, debt, real estate, secured transactions, and M&A.Key Responsibilities:Support and eventually lead in negotiation of equity and debt financing transactions (equity investments, loans, notes, warrants, etc.) and M&A transactions for project monetizations (MIPAs, APAs, PSAs, etc.).Advise the investment team in structuring investments and other transactions optimally.Provide legal assistance for our existing portfolio of investments, which includes working with internal and external parties on project development matters and managing ad hoc questions for counsel.Participate in investment and project due diligence processes, including ownership of certain due diligence workstreams.Qualifications:Possess a JD from an accredited US law school and be admitted to the bar (any state may apply).1-4 years of relevant experience (in-house or outside counsel acceptable).Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an emphasis on succinctness and clarity.Excellent time management skills and comfort juggling multiple projects.Hardworking, responsive, and adaptive; confidence and diligence to advance matters independently.Ability to analyze and execute with little and/or imperfect information or guidance.Location: This position is anticipated to be primarily in-person.
