Job DescriptionCardiologist Opportunity – Wilkes-Barre, PA VAMC – Up to 55 Days off AnnuallyServe Those Who've ServedCaring for our nation's Veterans is among the most noble of callings.How would you like to become a part of a team providing compassionate care to Veterans?The Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania VA Medical Center is currently seeking a full-time board certified/board eligible Cardiologist to join the VA team. Your duties will include treat and manage patients who have illnesses related to General Cardiology and Supplemental Cardiac procedures. The applicant will provide comprehensive care to include diagnosis, treatment, follow-up, and education of patients with Cardiac conditions. Clinical duties will include diagnosing, treating, and managing patients referred for management of Cardiac disorders including:Core Cardiology ProceduresCardiac stress testingCardioversionEchocardiogram interpretationHolter monitor interpretation.Pericardiocentesis (emergency)Temporary transvenous pacemaker placementTilt table testingUse of thrombolytic agentsFinal Interpretation of EKGsFluoroscopySupplemental Cardiology ProceduresTransesophageal echocardiography (TEE) with interpretationTEE with cardioversionNuclear cardiology studiesCoronary CTAAdministration and management of Gp IIb/IIIa, vasoactive, and thrombolytic agentsThe Cardiologist (Non-Invasive) will be a vital part of the Wilkes-Barre VA Healthcare System and will provide outpatient and inpatient consultative service.U.S. Citizenship (Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.)Full unrestricted Licensure, Certification, or Registration required in ANY U.S. State.Board Certified or Board Eligible in Cardiology.Office Hours: 8:00am to 4:30pm Monday - Friday.
