Plant Superintendent

Production ManagerResponsible for the day-to-day execution of the production plan. Through subordinate supervisors and managers ensures production objectives are met within safety, quality and cost standards and in compliance with all company policies, processes and procedures.A Day in the Life | Responsibilities We Trust You With:Utilize the understanding of the aseptic process and the critical control points that support it to maintain product integrity and safetyOversee the performance of the shift supervisors and communicate company standards to staffEffectively uses available resources to formulate action plans for process improvements, cost reduction, quality improvement, work simplificationAssist the Plant Scheduler to meet the customer's needs and schedule personnel appropriatelyReport any mechanical, scheduling, or personnel problems that may have significant effects on the operations of the plantEstablish high morale throughout the department by showing fairness, consistency, and an interest in employee problemsCommunicate with the Accounting, HR, and Purchasing departments on the various needs of the Production DepartmentsDemonstrate excellent leadership through effective communication, coaching, and training and developmentProvide input for annual budget and capital planningPrepares and delivers clear presentations and presents a professional image to employees, groups, and customersImplement, maintain, and support all company policies and procedures, including the union contracts, safety programs, and good housekeepingWhat You Must Know | Education & Experience:4 yr. degree or relevant work experience in a high-speed manufacturing environment, preferably consumer packaged goods3-5 yrs. of experience in a food processing environment3-5 years of supervisory experienceComputer skillsWhat You Need to be Good At | Competencies & Skills:Superior problem-solving skills for long term issue resolutionGeneral knowledge of business systems: budgeting, invoicing, marketing and strategic planningAbility to quickly pick up and maintain technical knowledge pertaining to the plant and processesAbility to combine information from multiple disciplines to identify problems and recommend appropriate solutionsRecognizes the need for improvements and effectively manages implementation of changeUtilizes strong interpersonal communication skillsSets high personal standards of performance and pursues aggressive goalsPromotes and pursues learning and self-developmentYour Working Relationships | Leadership:Requires employee to directly supervise othersFosters collaboration and teamworkGains support and commitment from within departments as well as with other divisions within the organizationYour Work Environment | Working Conditions & Safety Considerations:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
